Warranty for Village Handcrafted Cabinetry

As a valued customer, you have invested in the highest quality cabinetry and craftsmanship. We are proud to offer a 3-year warranty on our cabinetry for residential use and a 1-year warranty for commercial applications. This warranty is valid for the original purchaser from the date of purchase. If you encounter any issues, please contact our Customer Service for detailed Warranty and Service information.

Warranty Coverage

Village Handcrafted Cabinetry warrants that our cabinetry is free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use for three (3) years from the delivery date. This warranty is non-transferable and applies to

  • Cabinet front frames
  • Cabinet doors (including specific door warpage conditions)
  • Cabinet back and side panels
  • Shelves, tops, and bottoms
  • Drawer fronts and drawer boxes

Door Warpage

  • 1/8” tolerance for single panel doors up to 26” wide and 48” high.
  • 1/4” tolerance for multi-panel doors up to 26” wide & 64 15/16” high.
  • 5/16” tolerance for multi-panel doors up to 26” wide and 83 15/16” high.
  • Single panel, single opening frame only, and mullion doors over 26” wide and 48” high are not warranted.
  • Any door exceeding 26” wide or 83 15/16” high is not warranted.

Climate Controlled Environment

Our products should be maintained in a climate-controlled environment to avoid extreme temperatures and humidity. Products stored or installed in uncontrolled environments are not warranted.

Service Rates

Certified installation and onsite finishing are available at:

  • $160 per installer per hour plus travel time.
  • Onsite finishing at $235 per person per hour plus travel time.

Storage Fees

Notify us at least four weeks prior to the intended delivery week of any timeline changes. If the site is not ready for delivery, a full delivery payment is required to avoid storage fees. Storage fees begin the week after the intended delivery week if full payment is not made.

Honoring the Warranty

The warranty is valid once all contracts, change orders & work orders are paid in full.

Warranty Performance

We periodically update our product lines. If a warranty claim is made on an obsolete or changed product, we will replace the part with a new part of the same or similar style. However, there may be slight variations in new products. We may repair or replace the defective material or component at our discretion, free of charge. This warranty does not cover labor or removal & reinstallation costs for countertops, plumbing fixtures, electrical appliances, or related materials.

Limitations

This warranty is exclusive and Village Handcrafted Cabinetry is not liable for incidental or consequential damages. No dealer or agent has the authority to alter this warranty.

Natural Wood Characteristics

Natural wood may vary in color, texture, and grain, even within the same species. Over time, wood can exhibit subtle changes as it ages, and finishes may vary in tone and grain characteristics. Environmental factors like sunlight, smoke, and household cleaners can accelerate these changes. These variations are considered normal and are not covered under this warranty.

Special Notes

To maintain warranty standards, specific conditions apply to doors and panels:

Panel Warpage

  • Vertical grain panels over 22” wide or 43 15/16” high are not warranted against warpage or expansion.
  • One-piece products are warranted if:
  • The product is no larger than 12” wide and 21 15/16” high with expansion or warpage greater than 1/8”.
  • The product measures 12 1/16” to 22” in width or 22” to 43 15/16” in height with expansion or warpage greater than 1/4”.
  • Any one-piece product exceeding 22” in width or 43 15/16” in height is not warranted.
  • Solid wood three-piece drawer fronts over 44” wide or 14” high are not warranted against warpage or cracking.

Exclusions

The warranty does not cover defects or damages arising from:

  • Improper or negligent installation
  • Misuse, accidents, or alterations
  • Improper care or lack of climate control
  • Exposure to water or extreme humidity changes
  • Natural characteristics of wood (e.g., color variations, texture, grain changes)
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Labor costs, including removal and reinstallation
  • Transportation or shipping costs
  • Acts of Nature

Care & Maintenance:

 

Routine Cleaning

  • Use a clean, slightly damp cloth to wipe down your cabinetry gently.
  • Immediately dry the surface with a soft cloth to avoid water spots.

Deep Cleaning

  • Use a small amount of soap such as Dawn and luke warm water on a soft cloth.
  • Dry surface with a dry rag to avoid water spots.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals, ammonia-based solutions, and abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the finish.
  • Avoid silicon or high wax content polishes to prevent buildup that can alter the finish.

Protecting Your Cabinetry

  • Remove spills immediately to avoid staining or warping.
  • Minimize direct sunlight exposure and maintain moderate humidity levels to protect the wood.
  • Avoid heavy mopping around cabinet base to minimize water damage to trim.

Touch-Up Instructions

Your cabinetry includes a Touch-Up Kit to help maintain the finish in case of minor scratches
or blemishes.
Touch-Up Kit Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Surface: Clean the area to be touched up, ensuring it’s free from dust and debris.
  2. Select the Finish: Choose the correct finish bottle from your kit.
  3. Shake and Mix: Shake the finish bottle thoroughly, then open the finish and catalyst bottles.
  4. Dip the brush into the catalyst, letting excess drip off.
  5. Next, dip the brush into the finish and gently apply it to the affected area.
  6. Dry and Repeat: Allow the area to dry completely. Apply additional coats as needed.
